Chasing Tides tells the story of my 1997 journey around Ireland by sea kayak — 1,500 kilometres travelled on a shoestring, with paper charts, limited forecasts and long before smartphones.
Based largely on the diary I kept at the time, it follows the journey from the early days paddling with friends through to the long solo stretches around some of Ireland’s wildest coastline. It’s as much about the people, places and unexpected moments along the way as it is about the kayaking.
